BY TRAIN: If you are coming to Srinagar Railway Station then Dal Lake is located just 9 kilometers away from the railway station.Taxi fare from the station to Dal Lake about 50-100 rupees,But they will tell you the price is much higher you need to bargain this time,if you get a bus from there, That would be great for you but buses is not always available. Bus fare is only 12 rupees.

BY FLIGHT: If you are coming from Srinagar Airport, (Sheikh ul-alam international Airport) The distance from the airport to Dal Lake is about 20 to 22 kilometers,Taxi fare is around 600 to 800 rupees and it will take you 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach here.

HOW TO REACH:The distance from Srinagar to Gulmarg is about 50kms,If you want to come to Gulmarg from Srinagar, you have to come to Tangmarg road first,To get to Tangmarg you will get a car from Srinagar you have to spend 100 rupees here,Then you have to change car from tangmarg and from here fare is 50 rupees you will go to Golmaal hills.

There is no direct car or bus service from Srinagar to Tangmarg. You can rent a private car if you want It will take 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Gulmarg.

3)INDIRA GANDHI MEMORIAL TULIP GARDEN:

The garden is located on the zabarwan mountain range on the banks of the Dal Lake.It is 8 km away from Srinagar,the garden covers an area of ​​about 75 acres,It was built in 2007 by Gulam Nabi Azad.Every year in the month of April, Tulip festival is celebrated here to welcome the arrival of spring by displaying approx 70 variety of the tulip flowers. it is also include the best places to visit in srinagar.

4) SHALIMAR BAGH:

Shalimar means abode of love.In 1619, Mughal ruler Jahangir got this garden constructed for his wife Nur Jahan.After it was fully built, Jahangir said that if anywhere is heaven in the world, it is here and here. Shalimar Bagh is one of the most populated Mughal garden here and it is one of the best places to visit in srinagar.

Which has been divided into three terraces 1)The lowest terraces is diwane aam, 2) the middle terraces is diwane khaas, 3)And at the top part is reserved for royal women, Spread over 31 acres, the park is surrounded by chinar tree.

5)Shankaracharya Temple:

The Shankaracharya temple is located on the Shankaracharya hill, This temple is located on a very high hills so you can see it from anywhere in Dal Lake, And this temple was built twenty centuries ago by King Gopaditya, around 372 BC.

About 1100 feet above from sea level, this temple is dedicated to Hindu god Lord Shiva.Earlier the name of this temple is Gopadari and then,Adi Guru Shankaracharya was then at this place during his journey to Kashmir so the name was changed to Shankaracharya Temple.

The word Nishat Bagh means gardens of happiness.This garden is located east of Dal Lake The garden was built in 1633 by Nurjahan’s brother Hassan Asif Khan.Spread over 46 acres, it is the second largest Mughal garden in Srinagar,Located on the shores of Dal Lake in Srinagar, this garden is the very beautiful and has a variety of flowers and beautiful decoration as well.

7) HAZRATBAL SHRINE:

This mosque was built by emperor Shah-jahan and Subedar sadiq Khan in 17th century,In Kashmiri languages,bal means to stay,so that Hazratbal means where Hazrat stay.

Pari mahal is hidden places in srinagar, it is located about 13 km from Srinagar,This palace was built by Shahjahan’s son Darashiko in 1650 AD. this is one of the best places to visit in srinagar Everyone says there was a Buddhist monastery here before.Parimahal is located on the banks of Dal Lake and just above the chashme Shahi garden.This is the best option for you if you are coming to Srinagar In summer,You can see different types of flowers here and in winter you will not see these.

10)CHASME SAHI BAGH:

Chasme Sahi bagh is the first Mughal garden in Srinagar, and one of the hidden places in srinagar. This garden was build in 1632 AD by Shahjahan’s state of Kashmir’s governor Ali martam Khan.Spread over 1 acre of land, this garden is the smallest Mughal garden in Srinagar This is also known as royal spring. Dal lake looks very beautiful from this garden.

Famous for: Surrounded by hills, this garden is very beautiful,It is very attractive smallest Mughal Garden.

Entry fee: The entrance fee for children and adults is only 10.

TIMING:The garden is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HOW TO REACH: Chasme Sahi bagh is located about 12 km from Srinagar.Book a private car or taxi to get here,Taxi fares are only 50 to 100 Rs It only takes 20 to 30 minutes to get here.
